The short version
- We collect minimal information: visit analytics, your email if you subscribe, and your message if you contact us.
- We don't sell your data, ever.
- We don't use third-party advertising trackers (no Google/Meta/Amazon ad pixels on this site).

Who we are
This site (kutirtools.com) is operated by Kutir, an American seller of outdoor tools. Contact: support@kutirtools.com.
What we collect, and why
1. Site analytics (every page view)
When you visit a page, our server logs the following so we can understand how the site is being used and improve it:
- Your IP address (truncated for analytics; stored for up to 12 months for security and abuse prevention)
- Your user-agent string (browser, operating system, device type)
- The page you visited and the page you came from (referrer)
- Browser language, timezone, screen size
- UTM campaign parameters (when present in the URL)
- An anonymous session ID (random UUID, stored in your browser's sessionStorage and discarded when you close the tab — this is not a tracking cookie)
- Whether you clicked a link to Amazon (so we can measure conversion rate)
This information is processed on our own server and is not shared with any third party. Legal basis (GDPR): legitimate interest in operating and improving the site.
2. Email subscriptions (if you subscribe)
If you join our newsletter we store your email address, the date you subscribed, the page you subscribed from, and an unsubscribe token. We use this only to send you the newsletter. Legal basis: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by replying to any email with the word "unsubscribe".
3. Contact form (if you write to us)
If you send a message via our contact form we store your name, email, optional subject, message, IP address, and user-agent. We use this only to respond to your inquiry. Legal basis: contractual necessity / legitimate interest in answering customer questions.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses no advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels, and no cross-site identifiers. We use one piece of sessionStorage (a temporary anonymous ID that exists only while your browser tab is open) to deduplicate page reloads in our analytics. That is the entirety of our client-side storage.
Third parties
We do not transfer your data to third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics companies. The only third party involved when you use this site is Amazon — and only if you click a "Buy on Amazon" link, at which point you leave our site and Amazon's privacy policy applies to your visit there.
Our outbound links to OSHA, CDC, university extension services, and similar reference sites in our guides do not pass any of your personal information.
Data retention
- Visit analytics: 12 months, then automatically purged.
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact form messages: 24 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us at any time to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct data that's wrong
- Delete data we hold about you
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of any communication
To exercise any of these rights, email support@kutirtools.com. We respond within 30 days. If you're a California resident, this applies to your CCPA rights; if you're in the EU/UK, this applies to your GDPR rights.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Subscriber and message data is stored in a MySQL database on our hosting provider with restricted access. We do not store passwords (we don't have user accounts) or payment information (purchases happen on Amazon).
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes that affect newsletter subscribers, we'll send a notification email.
